Objectives

The Doctor of Philosophy Program in Information Studies is interdisciplinary in nature.  It aims at producing the human resources in the information profession who have high competencies as follows:

1) Knowledge and skills in integrating their own background contexts with the multiple disciplines of information studies including library science; information science; information and knowledge management; information and communication and technology; and humanities and social sciences in order to effectively manage, analyze, and transfer the information and knowledge.

2) Skills in conducting advanced research which aimed for high quality research publications recognized at the national and international levels.

3) The recognition of their responsibilities in promoting and reinforcing the creation and use of information appropriately, and that supporting the social and country’s developments.
